Gaza Humanitarian Crisis Worsens: 71 Killed in Israeli Strikes, Starvation Deaths Soar
Gaza City – The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is escalating rapidly, with at least 71 Palestinians killed in recent Israeli airstrikes. Among the victims were 42 individuals reportedly seeking humanitarian aid. As the conflict continues, the threat of mass starvation in the region grows more severe, drawing global concern.
According to Gaza’s health authorities, five more civilians died from hunger in the last 24 hours alone. This raises the total number of starvation-related deaths to 127, including 85 children, since the beginning of the Israeli military campaign.
To address the worsening conditions, the Israeli military conducted limited air drops of humanitarian aid in northern Gaza. However, the operation led to injuries among 11 people and was met with criticism from the United Nations. UN officials labeled the aid drops as “costly, unsafe, and largely ineffective,” warning they pose risks to civilians.
In a separate development, rescue teams recovered 12 bodies from the rubble in the Morag area, located north of Rafah. The recovery operation was carried out in coordination with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
As the Gaza humanitarian crisis intensifies, international agencies continue to call for immediate and unrestricted aid access to affected communities. Despite growing pressure from human rights organizations and global leaders, the region remains under blockade, leaving thousands without basic necessities such as food, water, and medical supplies.
Observers warn that unless swift and sustained humanitarian intervention is allowed, the death toll from both violence and starvation will continue to rise sharply in the days ahead.
